Bienvenido!
Argentina is the second largest country of South America after Brazil, boasting a total land area of 2 780 400 square kilometers.
It was formerly colonized by Spain and it later got independence through the Argentine war of Independence ending some 300 years of Spanish rule (starting in around 1580 with the founding of the capital, Buenos Aires and ending in 1818 with victory for the Argentinians in the previously mentioned war)
Inhabitants
Around 97% of the total population have roots tracing back to the European continent, primarily from Spain, Italy, Germany and France. The majority of this descendants are here because Argentina's constitution after independence explicitly encouraged migration to Argentina in an effort to modernize the country.
Sol de Mayo
The Sol de Mayo or Sun of May is named after the May Revolution of 1810 which was the event that kickstarted the Argentine war for independence and was added onto the national flag in the same year Argentina formally received independence.
It's widely believed that the sun's directly tied to the Inca sun god named Inti due to some crediting the sun to Juan de Dios Rivera a goldsmith of Inda descent and the sun resembling Inti on Inca art though others doubt this due to a lack of concrete historical records which link the sun to Inti
