globel.neocities.org is a website where I try to create a page for every single country on planet Earth. I don't cite sources anywhere on any of my pages nor can guarantee the validity of what's being said, globel is meant to be treated as a personal project and a personal project only. That being said, I will try to remain respectful of the cultures, countries, religions and ideologies I will attempt to represent.

There are 195 countries recognized by the United Nations, though I've included the unrecognized defacto nation of Somaliland and Palestine & the Vatican which are non-member observer states. You can scroll to see the rest of the text.

Africa

Egypt

Egypt is and has always been highly dependent on the Nile river which flows from the entire south to the north of the country, seperating it in two. The annual floods that the Nile used to have and which made the surrounding land so fertile no longer happen due to the Aswan High Dam which was constructed in 1970 now regulates water flow.

Afghanistan [UF]

Afghanistan is a country that has faced criticism for its interpretation of Sharia law since the second takeover of Afghanistan by the Taliban government with one of the biggest criticisms being on the Taliban's handling of women's rights.

Bangladesh [UF]

When the British Raj was partitioned Pakistan was made up of East (Pakistan) and West Pakistan (Bangladesh). Due to neglection from the West towards the East, Bangladesh later won independence through war.

Bhutan [UF]

Bhutan operates under the philosophy of GNH or Gross National Happiness where the country prioritizes the well-being of its citizens over economic growth.

India [UF]

India has maintained a caste-based society for centuries and even though caste discrimination is illegal, it is still a common issue. If your parents are from a lower-than-desired caste, people may look down upon you.

Maldives [UF]

The Maldives is the smallest country in all of Asia and while only having a population of around 500,000 had around 2 million tourist arrivals in 2024. Primarily known for its clear water, reefs and white beaches the Maldives has around 176 resorts, each of which is located on its own private island.

Nepal [UF]

Nepal boasts half of Mount Everest and the birthplace of Buddha, among other things. Its flag is also supposed to be representative of Hinduism and Buddhism, resembling two peaks.

Argentina

Argentina('s elite) was very wealthy due to being able to export tons and tons of beef, wheat and wool produced on the extremely fertile Pampas grasslands. This was Argentina's golden age, which lasted from around 1875 to 1929. The golden age ended when the Great Depression came because demand collapsed.

Brazil

Brazil is the most populous and largest country on South America, occupying around half of it. It is also the only country in the Americas that speaks Portuguese and the largest Afro-descendant population outside of Africa with around 20 million identifying as fully Black (preto) and another 92 million identifying as half-Black (Pardo)
