History

Long ago, a large fleet of foreign boats stranded on the continent Country, Autocracy and Vassal reside on. Their strong boats, on the sea for so long, were unfit to turn back home. They settled on the new land and set up their very own colony, and with their superior technology, started to slowly subjugate the stateless land that surrounded them. As time passed and the population became overwhelmingly Indigenous, the Foreign population became split. Part of them started to intermingle with the Indigenous peoples while the others strictly reproduced with their own kind, which would eventually cause three main pillars to form that made up New Land's population.

Technology

The ignorance of the very first colonizers in passing on their knowledge of their original homelands caused their descendants to slowly lose and mythologize their past. Seeing as they were completely lost at sea, presumably for years with intermittent stops, there is no real way of retracing their origins. The edge that their more advanced practical technology had, first a novelty, eroded as other societies adapted, which also halted further expansion.

Present

New Land is a politically backlogged and conservative nation. Its society is fractured between fear of social change and progression, which makes innovation harder to promote. Change is harder to implement because of the radically different wants, thus causing parties to stay in gridlock.

Geography

New Land borders Vassal, Country and Autocracy. The majority of its territory falls under a tropical climate, though the south is more temperate if anything.
Natural Resources: Bauxite, gold, iron ore, manganese, nickel, phosphates, platinum, tin, clay, rare earth elements, uranium, petroleum, hydropower, and timber
Environmental Hazards: recurring droughts in northeast; floods and occasional frost in south

Reservations

New Land is divided into three federal units, those being the Indigenous, Mixed and Foreign (Colonist) reservations. Their borders reflect the historical living patterns of the colonizers, native and mixed populations which results in hundreds of en- and exclaves and ragged + unconventional internal borders.
